Let's talk about time and time dilation
We have been hearing since childhood, "Time and Tide wait for none". Time waits for no one. But today we can say, time will wait for you. Did you know that about 5,000 years ago there was no such thing as time? At that time civilization was going very well. That is why we have created the time for our own needs. That's what Sir Albert Einstein said. So time is just a form of space.
Time slows down according to the theory of relativity
For this, you need to travel at
the speed of light or any speed close to it. And the funny thing is that when
you travel at the speed of light, according to Einstein's famous formula E = mc
^ 2, you will not have a matter, you will become full energy. As a result, you
will not be affected by time.
Time is like a flowing river. Never flows in the opposite direction. Every moment we are moving towards the future little by little. That which is present now, that which is present at the moment is the past. From the past to the present, we are constantly moving towards the future. There is no break in this endless path from birth to death. But is it possible to return to the past from the present?
If we want to be able to leave in the future? Before answering the questions, let's look at the matter of time, what it really is and how time started. According to scientists, 13.7 billion years ago, our universe was created by a big bang. Soon after the Big Bang, the universe began to expand and to this day it continues to expand. This expansion has created space in the universe, which has three dimensions of length, width, and height. Scientists say the big bang triggered another dimension in addition to the three-dimensional space.
In order to identify a point in the universe, it is necessary to mention this fourth dimension as well as the three-dimensional space. This fourth dimension is time. Scientists say space and time did not exist before the Big Bang. Everything was stationary at one point. The Big Bang created space and time at the same time.
Although in classical physics we think of space and time as separate the joint weaving of space-time has formed the infrastructure of our universe. The scientist Einstein explained and proved it beautifully in his theory of general relativity. Time is one of the dimensions of the universe, the effect of which is that the universe is constantly changing. The scientist Albert Einstein in his special theory of relativity has shown an excellent relationship between time and motion. He says time is not constant, it is relative. As the speed of an object increases, time becomes sluggish for it.
For example, one of the twin brothers was sent into space on a rocket. Another brother stayed on earth. Suppose a rocket in space returns to Earth after 5 years of spin at speeds close to the speed of light (99%). When we return to Earth, we will see that in those five years, the equivalent of thirty-six years has passed on Earth. This is because according to the special theory of relativity, the time inside the rocket slowed down due to the high speed. That is why the time that one brother thought was inside the rocket was five years, while the other brother spent thirty-six years on Earth. Not only that, he will be back in the future after 31 years.
The world he knew changed a lot then. To many, this may seem like a science fiction story. But science says it is possible. In scientific terms, it is called time dilation or time dilation.
